Moreshet Foundation is the foremost international non-profit organization dedicated to enshrining, advancing and disseminating the Sephardi-Mizrahi Jewish heritage on a worldwide basis. Established in line with recommendations of the Israel Ministry of Education’s Bitton Committee, Moreshet Foundation’s two leading undertakings are the Beit Moreshet Museum Network and the Moreshet.NET online community.
The Beit Moreshet Museum Network, is being developed in cooperation with Israel’s Ministries of Culture and Finance, the Jerusalem Municipality, and other leading Sephardi-Mizrahi organizations. Addressing the pressing need for a single comprehensive museum system focusing on the Sephardi-Mizrahi heritage, the network aims to link the central museum, to be located in Jerusalem’s iconic Rockefeller Museum compound adjacent to the Old City, with affiliated museums in New York, Paris, and Sao Paulo.
Major elements of the central museum complex in Jerusalem are to encompass 18 museum halls, each focusing on the various Heritage Groups. Other attractions include: A wing on Jewish Refugees from Arab/Islamic Countries, Hall of Fame, Time Tunnel, Virtual Reality Synagogue, and extensive Library and Archives.
Our online arm Moreshet.NET aims to fill the void as the foremost international portal and online community linking some 1.5 million Sephardi-Mizrahi Jews across the Americas, Europe, and elsewhere. Major channels offered by Moreshet.NET include: News, Comment, Culture, Lifestyle, Communities, Education, and Business.
Moreshet Foundation and its affiliates operate in conjunction with an Advisory Board bringing together major Sephardi-Mizrahi leaders and donors from around the world.
